Visit the Space

Hi there. I’m Brandon, the founder and the person you’ll usually meet when you visit The Strangers Project. This is a free public space where you can wander through thousands of real, handwritten stories from strangers — take as much time as you’d like reading, and if something moves you, you’re welcome to sit down and add your own.

The project moves, but most of the time it’s set up at the World Trade Center Oculus in New York City. I also bring The Strangers Project to other cities for festivals, university visits, museum pop-ups, and private installations.

Because it’s just me collecting stories, the project only exists in one place at a time. While there’s a regular schedule at the Oculus, if I’m traveling with the project, the main space will usually be closed. Below is an up-to-date schedule of where it will be over the next few weeks — it’s always worth checking before planning your visit.

The Strangers Project at WTC Oculus

Come find me at the World Trade Center Oculus, Thursday through Sunday, 2–6:30pm. Since I run this solo, hours occasionally shift — the most current schedule is below. Visitors are able to explore hundreds of stories from the archive, learn about the history of the project, and even share their own story to be added to the collection. This space is for you.
